The nutritional value of luffa is quite high and it has numerous health benefits such as lowering blood pressure, reducing blood sugar levels, improving constipation, enhancing skin beauty, and protecting the liver.

Additionally, luffa is rich in vitamins A, B5, B6, C, antioxidants, minerals, and fiber. However, according to experts, when consuming luffa, there are certain precautions to take to avoid negative health impacts.

In particular, you should not arbitrarily combine luffa with certain foods as it may be harmful to your health. Here are the foods that should absolutely not be paired with luffa:

    1.  Loach Fish

Luffa is very rich in vitamin B1, while loach fish contains enzymes that break down vitamin B1. When these two foods are eaten together, the enzymes in loach fish will break down the vitamin B1 in luffa, affecting its nutritional value for the body.

    2.  Spinach

Both spinach and luffa are cold-natured foods and high in fiber. Eating them together can speed up intestinal movements, potentially causing digestive disorders, stomach pain, or diarrhea.

Additionally, spinach contains oxalic acid, while luffa is rich in calcium. When combined, the oxalic acid in spinach interacts with the calcium in luffa to form calcium oxalate, making it difficult for the body to absorb.

    3.  White Radish

Both white radish and luffa are cold-natured foods. Eating them together can cause stomach coldness and pain.

These are the foods that should not be combined with luffa. Make sure to eat luffa properly to maintain good health.
