Rain and mountain snow will continue across Southern California, bringing varying amounts of precipitation throughout the region. Here’s a breakdown of what to anticipate on Thursday.
When Will the Rain Arrive?
Rainfall is expected overnight, with a brief break in the morning before lingering showers return throughout the day. Some areas may experience thunderstorms in the afternoon.
According to the National Weather Service, the highest likelihood of rain is between noon and 6 p.m. The storm will gradually clear out by Thursday night.
Winter Storm Warning Issued
A winter storm warning is in effect for parts of the Inland Empire.
The San Bernardino Mountains are forecasted to receive 4 to 8 inches of snow at elevations between 5,000 and 6,000 feet, while higher elevations between 6,000 and 7,500 feet could see 8 to 12 inches. Strong winds with gusts reaching 60 mph are also expected.
In Ventura County, mountain areas could see 2 to 4 inches of snow, and the weather service warns of potential travel delays on mountain routes, including Interstate 5 over the Grapevine.
The winter storm warning remains in effect until 10 a.m. Friday.

- Los Angeles & Orange Counties: Expect highs around 57°F and lows near 46°F, with a 50% chance of rain.
- Burn Scar Areas: Altadena may receive over half an inch, while Pacific Palisades is forecasted to get just under half an inch.
- Valleys & Inland Empire: A 60% chance of rain is expected, with some areas possibly accumulating over an inch by evening. Temperatures will peak around 57°F.
- Beaches: A 60% chance of showers is forecasted, with surf heights between 3 to 7 feet.
- Deserts: Expect rain and gusty winds, with a daytime high near 52°F.
