Christina Ricci, widely recognized for her memorable performances in The Addams Family, Casper, and Sleepy Hollow, has officially received a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame.
Ricci’s journey in acting began at the age of seven when a local theater critic took notice of her impressive performance in a school Christmas play. Just a year later, she made her professional debut in Mermaids, sharing the screen with renowned actresses Cher and Winona Ryder.
Reflecting on her career at the ceremony on Thursday, Ricci expressed deep gratitude for the recognition. “From the first time I stepped onto a film set, I felt like I had found my place,” she shared. “For over 36 years, I’ve been a working actress and part of this community. While I’ve always felt a strong connection to film sets—drawn to them even when just passing by—and cherished every moment of being in front of the camera, I don’t think my younger self could have ever imagined receiving such an incredible honor.”
The event saw the presence of director Patty Jenkins, who worked with Ricci in the 2003 film Monster, and actor Dan Bucatinsky, her co-star in the 1998 dark romantic comedy The Opposite of Sex.
Jenkins expressed her admiration for Ricci, saying, “You have such a special place in my heart. Honestly, I’m amazed you don’t already have 40 stars.”
Ricci’s Yellowjackets co-stars were also there to celebrate her achievement.
“This industry has been my entire life—it’s where I belong, and it’s in my blood,” Ricci reflected. “Looking back, I might have told my younger self to have more confidence. But in the end, things turned out just fine, even without that self-assurance.”
