Meghan Markle, or as she prefers to be called, Meghan Sussex, debuted her new show on Netflix earlier this month. The show, ‘With Love, Meghan,‘ shows the Duchess in her kitchen as she entertains a spate of guests.

Now, it seems that reviews for the show and ratings have begun to pour in and from the looks of it, not a lot of it seems to be positive.

But does the Duchess really deserve any of this? Keep reading to learn more.

Meghan Markle’s show for Netflix had been in the works for a while. While a lot of people initially had no idea what it would be about, when the trailer came out nothing was left to question.

It was all about Meghan Markle, or as she prefers to be called now, Meghan Sussex, entertaining famous guests in her home, as she shares cooking, baking, gardening, and hosting tips.

The show, as it stands, has 33% on Rotten Tomatoes and a 3/10 rating on IMDb. This is by no means a stellar rating. The show’s release had been delayed as Markle requested Netflix to hold off on releasing it because of the California fires.

Now that the show has been released, it has garnered a very mild response. However, those who do not care for Meghan are already incredibly vocal about their distaste for the show.

A lot of people called the show “fake” and “performative.” And did not buy the friendships depicted in it as genuine. However, some of the hate came from people who already do not think very highly of Meghan Markle.

The show is about Meghan Markle showing her audience her tips for hosting, cooking, baking, and gardening. It does not at all seem like something that could be divisive because, at its core, it is a show about a woman showing her version of homemaking and hosting.

How can anyone watch it and decide to dislike it so much that they go online and write rants about how much they disliked it? It has no plot points written by writers that you can contest. It is not a reality show where producers play up the drama just to make it more interesting. It is just a woman sharing homemaking and hosting tips.

But people decided to dislike it and call it ingenuine simply because of the person who is hosting the show: Meghan Markle. Even the episode where she talks about changing her last name to Sussex now was criticized.

Women change their last names after marriage very commonly. Markle also shared her own reason, one that is mirrored by many women across the world: that she wanted her last name to be the same as her children. She wanted to share the name with her kids and her husband. This is a perfectly innocent and normal explanation, but one that was criticized nonetheless.

But even with all the bad reviews, it seems like Netflix still considers it a success, as the show was renewed for Season 2.

It seems no matter how much some people despise the Duchess, she still manages to somehow rise above.

What did you think about Meghan Markle’s new show, let us know in the comments. Share this with others to see what they thought of the show as well.
