Recently, Güler Erdogan (27), a former Miss Europe-Kosovo, tragically lost her life in an accident in Giresun, Turkey. She fell from a 15-meter-high overpass onto a six-lane highway while trying to escape the police after being caught driving under the influence.

According to Turkish media, Güler had just reunited with her family to celebrate Eid before heading to a nightclub with friends. On her way home, she was pulled over by police for a routine check. Her breath alcohol concentration measured 1.70mg/100ml — more than three times the legal limit.
Realizing the gravity of the situation, Güler abandoned her car and attempted to flee by running onto a nearby overpass. Tragically, she lost her balance and fell onto the highway below. A passing vehicle was unable to avoid her and struck the young model. Emergency services arrived quickly, but she was pronounced dead at the scene.

She had been the face of numerous major brands and was considered a beauty icon representing Kosovo in various international pageants.
The only post now remaining on her Instagram is a statement from her family, addressing the rumors circulating online:
“Please do not believe the false information being spread about the death of our beloved daughter, sister, and friend — Güler Erdogan. She passed away in a tragic accident, and we — her family — were by her side in her final moments.”
Güler’s case has drawn comparisons to a similar incident in Bali, Indonesia in January 2020, when Australian model and DJ Courtney Mills, 37, died after falling from a hotel balcony. Despite being rushed to the hospital and undergoing multiple surgeries, Courtney did not survive.
